What we collect

Guardia stores your address tags, categories, notes, and blocked tokens locally in your browser using Chrome Storage.

When you log in with Telegram, your wallet tags are synced to our server so your data persists across browsers and devices. Local data always takes priority in case of conflicts.

If you enable Telegram monitoring for specific addresses, we store those addresses and your Telegram chat ID on our server solely to deliver real-time transaction notifications.

What we don't collect

We do not collect browsing history, page content, private keys, seed phrases, passwords, or any financial data. Guardia has no access to your funds — it only reads publicly available data displayed on block explorer pages. We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, or any form of user behavior monitoring.

Shield (threat detection)

Shield analysis runs entirely in your browser. Transaction data is analyzed locally using pattern matching — nothing is sent to external servers. No transaction history or page content leaves your device. The token blacklist (tokens you manually block) is also stored locally.

Telegram integration

When you enable monitoring for an address, we store that address and your Telegram chat ID on our server to send notifications. Monitoring is available on 8 EVM chains (Ethereum, BSC, Polygon, Arbitrum, Base, Optimism, Avalanche, Hyperliquid). You can disable monitoring or delete your account at any time — all associated server-side data is removed immediately.

Import from explorers

Guardia can import your Private Name Tags from block explorer pages (e.g., Etherscan). This process runs entirely in your browser — page content is read by the content script and never sent to any server. Imported data is saved to your local Chrome Storage.

Data export & deletion

You can export all your data (tags, categories, notes) as CSV or JSON at any time from the extension Settings. To delete all data — both local and server-side — use the "Delete all data & logout" button in Settings. This permanently removes all wallet tags, blocked tokens, monitoring subscriptions, and your account from our server. Alternatively, uninstalling the extension clears all local Chrome storage automatically.

Third parties

We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to any third parties. We use Google Fonts for typography on our website. The extension itself makes no third-party requests beyond the Guardia API (for authentication, wallet sync, and monitoring features).

Permissions

Guardia requests minimal Chrome permissions:

storage — save your tags, settings, and blocked tokens locally
activeTab — read the current block explorer page to detect which address you are viewing
tabs — communicate between the popup and content scripts for real-time Shield updates and wallet sync
clipboardRead — clipboard protection against copied poisonous addresses

Host permissions:
api.guardia.sh — API requests for authentication, wallet sync, and Telegram monitoring
guardia.sh — Telegram Login Widget authentication flow

Content scripts only run on supported block explorer domains (Etherscan, BscScan, PolygonScan, and 16 others) and on guardia.sh for Telegram authentication.

Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

Guardia is a security tool designed to help users identify potentially fraudulent transactions on EVM block explorers. Guardia is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

No guarantee of detection

While our detection algorithms cover the vast majority of known address poisoning patterns, no automated system can guarantee 100% detection of all threats. The absence of a warning does not mean a transaction or address is safe. If Guardia does not flag a particular transaction, it does not constitute an endorsement, guarantee, or recommendation that the address is legitimate or trustworthy.

False positives

Guardia may occasionally flag legitimate transactions as suspicious (false positives). Our detection is based on pattern analysis — certain legitimate transactions may match patterns commonly associated with address poisoning (e.g., small-value transfers, addresses with similar prefixes). A flagged transaction is not necessarily fraudulent. If Shield hides a transaction in Hide mode, you can switch to Flag mode to review all flagged transactions. Users should exercise their own judgment and verify flagged transactions independently before taking action.

Hidden transactions

When Shield is set to Hide mode, flagged transactions are visually hidden from the page. Guardia does not delete, modify, or interfere with any blockchain data or explorer functionality. Hidden transactions still exist on the page and can be revealed at any time by switching to Flag mode or disabling Shield. We are not liable for any consequences arising from transactions being hidden from view, including missed legitimate transfers.

Financial liability

We do not accept any financial responsibility or liability for:

• Losses resulting from transactions made by the user, whether or not Guardia flagged the involved addresses
• Losses caused by new, unknown, or evolving attack patterns not yet covered by our detection algorithms
• Losses resulting from the user ignoring or dismissing warnings provided by Guardia
• Losses or missed opportunities caused by legitimate transactions being incorrectly flagged
• Losses caused by transactions hidden in Hide mode that the user did not review
• Any damages arising from reliance on the extension as a sole security measure

Data and reliability

Tag data is stored locally in your browser. We are not responsible for data loss caused by browser updates, clearing browser data, reinstalling the extension, or any other circumstance. We recommend using the Export feature regularly to back up your tags. Telegram monitoring alerts are delivered on a best-effort basis — we do not guarantee delivery time, completeness, or availability of the alert service.

Compatibility

Guardia modifies the visual presentation of supported block explorer pages. We do not guarantee compatibility with other browser extensions, custom scripts, or modified browser configurations. If you experience issues, try disabling other extensions to isolate the cause.

Your responsibility

You are solely responsible for your own financial decisions. Guardia is an additional layer of protection — not a replacement for due diligence. We strongly recommend verifying recipient addresses through multiple independent sources before completing any transaction. By using Guardia, you acknowledge and agree that the extension is an assistive tool and that all transactions are made at your own risk.

Indemnification

By using Guardia, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Guardia Labs, its contributors, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the extension or any violation of these terms.
